Cloud Telephony


Some telephone systems have no hardware other than phones on desks – they connect directly to the cloud, where everything is held. These are very robust – the software that manages everything is very stable, and if a server fails then a back-up will kick in immediately. They are also highly flexible. One of our key partners for these is Gamma, who provide a cloud solution called Horizon that many of our customers use.Some SMEs find that other options are best for them, such as a hybrid solution. In essence, the customer owns the infrastructure, but most of the physical equipment is held by the provider.A PBX system brings several benefits: it allows you to use one phone number even if you have people in different places; it can be used with many different devices; the provider has the responsibility for storing and maintaining the physical equipment; and it’s easy to scale up or down as required.Importantly, Mitel’s solution can be installed in both VMWare and HyperV environments.
